At breakdawn tomorrow morning, the removals' van will pull up in front of my house... I don't know if they realize what they're up against????

40 fish tanks has to be loaded and this does not include 6 ponds with around 20,000 fish in them... To add insult to injury.... Apart from my own furniture.... I have (during the past month) inherrited 50% of my parents' furniture as well....

Fortunately, I had the insight to rent 2 of their biggest trucks (with their biggest trailers) But I'm still convinced,.... a second trip will be required.

You could always put small tanks inside big tanks, and then just put the fish in big vats? that way you could save a considerable amount of space.

Good luck, you are going to need it - make sure the beer is on ice as a priority for the evening

He! He!.. Seffie.... First things first!!... The place I'm moving to has no Bottlestore!!! So, I'll have to calculate my weekly consumptions carefully (and get a trailer) to ensure I do not run dry!....

All I can wish you is the very best of luck !!

Certainly has the potential to be one of the most stressful days of your life I would guess. You will definately have deserved a drink or two by the end of the day.

What actually are you planning to do with the fish themselves during the transfer ?

Well!.... out of the 40 tanks, I reduced the active ones to about 17 active tanks.... Now with the moving moves.... I reduced the garage tanks by moving fish to the ponds outside. to 3 tanks having fish in them....

My objective would be, when I arrive on the other side..... to re-setup the required number of tanks as soon as possible...... I trust that I will not loose many fish.
Let's see what happens.... Should know by tomorrow afternoon.

and i thought i had a problem lol

dont worry, youll figure something out, hopefully nothing breaks.

Definately good luck, and let us know how it goes. When you get spare time after sorting all the tanks out that is.
:good:

I really do not look forward to making any kind of move Ludwig. I have 25 tanks up and running with a full assortment of fish and have no intention of ever trying to move my zoo. In my case, I keep closely related fish so there is no way I could mix them in less tanks. The best I could do would be to ferry back and forth with a few species at a time in suitable containers. Any significant move would take ages for me to accomplish without selling off most of my fish. At 40 tanks I would probably just throw my hands up and give up.

how did it go lud (probs not on internet yet lol)

I could not imagine having to take down all my gear & moving it along with the fish. I would have to thin out stock over a few months, the prep for the move would take some long term planning. I've got about 30 tanks running ATM, eliminating all but 3 would be my best plan, then building back up.

Hope you get a picture of the mover's faces when they first see the task ahead of them!

Best of luck to you and your fish. Hope they all make it!How did you move the ponds? Have enough [problems getting UK van drivers to move 4ft empty tanks.Guess SA removal men are made of sterner stuff!
