I have recently got back in to the swing of things after having just a single catfish for about a year! I fixed the lights af last and unfortunatly the catfsh snuffed it. I have taken pictures and uploaded them but finding it hard to import links in my phone, so more to come with desktop access!

since then I my wife bought a few silver sharks, "kissing gorami" and a red honey gorami whilst I was working.....

I have added some plant 4s, Algie shrimp, pest snails and 4 assassin snails.

I'm enjoying the shrimp snails and plants, so considering buying the wife her own similar sized tank. this is in the region of 200L being 100cm In length.

What are these silver sharks? Are they bala sharks? (you can google image that) or something else? If they're balas you'll need to regime them unfortunately.
But :hi: to the forum.

:hi: to the forum.

I agree with MoF; a three foot/200l is nowhere near big enough for bala /silver sharks, I'm afraid; they grow to 14" or so in length and do need swimming room.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, and to your first post too!

Lol I was going to say something but wanted to let him get in the door first before I address stocking.

No time like the present?

Maybe you're right, I've had a long, stressful day...not my most tactful moment...apologies.

Yeah that's the sharks, I am happy for them to go as they grow. I was expecting some problem.... ha. I was expecting something about the gourami though.

They are currently under two inches in length so should have some time yet!

No need to worry about it!

You were very polite and friendly the way you said it.

They grow slow so you have time, I was just worried about them getting stunted.

Nobody need worry about being too forward. I'll be asking plenty of questions so happy to get advice before I ask!

My next thoughts are an external filter, more plants, some more suitable fish, something to help plants grow and as I said a second tank the same size or bigger

These pictures looked nice on my phone. now seeing them on a computer screen is killing ym after selling my DSLR 6months ago :(

Thanks all, Im happy how its started. But I really want to go mad with plants and swap the gravel for sand ASAP.

I've had it for years, just never known what I wanted to do with it.
