More Interesting Tank Ideas Please! :)

i've got this aqua one 500 with 3 bolivian rams, 3 peppered catfish and 4 harlequin rasboras ...
it seems to be a nice healthy tank, do a water change once a week and put biological filtration boosters in just to keep it ticking over, but i want something more interesting to do/put in it to liven it up a bit! so does anyone have any good ideas of something cheap and cheerful?

p.s. have tried to attatch a picture, but apparently the request entity is too large!? not sure what that means, so i'll just say it has a few green plants at the back, 2 terrocota plant pots and a piece of drift wood

You can't upload your image because it's too big insize, instead you need to upload them to a photo site such as www.photobucket.com or www.imageshack.us

In terms of idea's, what filter ar you using? the harlequins love to play in flowing water so that should liven them up. If the fish are still small then some kind of little hoop looking rocks might go well, fish love to go in and out of them endlessly etc...

thanks! i've just managed to upload the photo, so its in the original post and i have an aqua flow filter which is quite strong, you're right they to like to play in the bubbles!

I like your tank. Does the "500" mean 500 litters, by chance?? One change to your tank that might make your existing decor stand out is to put a backdrop on the tank. Even if you just go buy a cheap piece of black or blue poster board and cut it to fit (attach with clear tape on the back), you would be amazed at the difference it can make to make your fish stand out more.

Gvilleguy the aqua one 500 is aproximately 64 litres I think (about 16 gallons anyway).

In the right front corner you have a java fern plant. Is that planted directly into the gravel? If so, it will die away. Java ferns need to be attached to a stone or wood so that their roots are not buried in the substrate.

A backing would certainly help the look of the tank. A simple black background can help your fish and plant colours to really stand out.
