Good Morning everyone,

One of my Serpae Tetras has had its tail fin ripped right off.
Unsure as to what or who is the culprit, possibly one the angels.

Anyway, my main question is, the tailless fish, what to do?
It can still swim, but not especially well, it is still getting food, the injury looks fine
as in no infections etc...
However I am leaning towards euthanising the poor #28###.
Opinions?

Thanks.

I would not kill him.....I had a school of tetras in the past that nipped the tail clean off one of their "friends." I just put him in a tank with a few mollies and about 3 weeks later he was good as new, put him back in the tank and never had a problem again. As long as he can somewhat swim to eat/excercise he should survive as long as the "culprit" doesnt try to finish it off. If you have a seperate tank I recommend you stick it in there so it can recover, if you do not have another atleast give it a few days to see if he starts recovering. good luck

Bless him.
Issolate the sick fish.
If he not stuggling to swim I would give him a chance.
use half dose of melafix.
