Missing An Eye

I found my male molly today without his right eye. I haven't really inspected the tank in a while so I do not know how long it has been gone. Is it possible he can continue a life without it? He is swimming around the top of the tank, not the bottom. Looks kind of freaky when he swims with the absent eye side towards me.

My male molly lost his eye due to a bacterial infection but he still lived fine without it.

I can't answer you about a molly specifically but I bought this C. sodalis over four years ago and he is still going strong.

You will want to try to figure out how yours got that way. The cory was in a tank with cichlids in the lfs so it was damage rather than disease. Do you have any aggressive fish in your tank?

I have a neon that lost and eye and a fin to a loach about 4 months ago. Neon swims sort of listing to the side but is doing very well and hangs out and is competitive with the other nine neons.
