Mini Tortoise

hey all, was in my LFS and saw some mini tortoise's cant remember name but they where about 1.5inches long

Any idea?

Any idea about what? The species? How they taste?

It's probable that you mean baby terrapins like these;

Otherwise you might genuinely mean baby tortoises, unless we know which country you're in then it's harder to narrow that down...

If they were true tortoises they are almost certainly just immature specimens of a common species like the Russian tortoise.

The smallest tortoise on earth is the speckled tortoise of South Africa. It's endangered, apparently hard to keep alive outside its natural habitat, and usually has an adult shell length of just under four inches at adulthood.
