Hi was looking at live plants on ebay and came across these intresting little chaps marimo moss balls and decided to order one. Any one got any advice for keeping them helathy?

They're really low-maintenance, there is nothing special you have to do :) Fish waste and the minerals from your regular water changes (plus a little light) will give them all they need.

They are soooo easy. I keep mine in a wide flower vase with only tap water, and change the water once every week or two or whenever it gets gunky. It's in my room on the other side from the window, so it gets little to no light. Some places even sell them in tiny little glass bottles you can use as a keychain. Marimo balls are very tolerant.

You might want to roll them around so they don't glue themselves to the substrate and keeps itself round, if you want to keep it as a round ball that is.

Edit:
I forgot something. When I got my marimo in the mail it was in a small plastic bag with no water or newspaper, and sort of squished flat and dried out. I was afraid it was dead, but once I put it in water for a couple days it puffed back up into a happy little plant. So if it looks a little sad when you get it in the mail, don't throw it out, it's fine.
