So I have dead spots in my tank and I've had a nice big bloom of hair type algae. My thought was that I need to either add another filter on the other side of the tank, or that perhaps instead, I could get a small powerhead to place on the end opposite the filter. I was looking at this one:

I figure that is probably plenty of power for my 36 as I'm not looking to create a really strong current. My question is, how likely do you think it is that my plec fry will find their way into it and turn into sushi? Is there anything I can do to make it safe without frying the motor by making it work too hard?
Would I be better off just getting another filter instead?
