ive always wondered........where exactly are the rules posted?....i would like to read them so i can understand what is and isnt alowed better.

it is only against the rules to advertise competing forums.
websites are not competing as there in no joining up (memberships)

I'm also a fan of black text on white backgrounds for sites containing information. But I guess thats just personal preference.

The home page looks good. But then on the other pages you have a blue background that clashes with the green design. I would make it all black like the homepage.

Also on the fish page you have blue green and red. Just too much colour going on.

Yes i agree, If your going for something informative you want to make it more proffesional looking with white and black text. You can change the template easily without losing any of your work, There is a nice white one with blue which would work nicely.

My opinion is that the site is badly designed, the bubbles are very distracting and annoying. The green on black doesnt work very well, especially with small test. And to top it all off you havent written all the information yourself!

You will NOT get lots of traffic to a website hosted somewhere like that. If you are SERIOUS about designing a website then you need to pay for your own webspace and domain name. As it is what you are doing is next to pointless.

Test lots, design lots, get a proper domain and then make sure the site is to a finished standard before you go showing people it. No one will remember to come back to a half-done website.

Sorry to be so utterly blunt but I have designed lots of websites and worked for lots of websites. I have seen many like yours come and go, or simply dissapear into the obscurity that is The Internet, mainly because they aren't instantly recognisable, and a wealth of knowledge.

Well i suppose i do agree with bunjiweb, Like i said earlier you are going have to pay for anything interesting. Yes you are not going to get hardly any traffic because you dont have it advertised anywhere such as google. If you have information on a fish just add it to the fish index here, where it will recieve alot more views because of the links from google and elsewhere. You could make a site on freewebs about breeding one species of fish. Then you have 7 pages where you could give absoulutely everything needed. Obviously youd have to use your own experience though... Good luck, if you are serious with it though you have to think about paying, for the advertising.

i just looked around more at your site blade. i would suggest making the skin blue and for the index of fish you could turn them in to link for info along with putting the common names so people know what they are. also for the Cyprinids section you could turn it in to a section with info on the more popular and common tropical fish. in the plants section you could tell and give info on the most common aquria plants. finnaly maybe you can find a nice fish pic to use as the background.

Home seems fine, except maybe instead of a green border, use a blue like the text (the green theme would be better for your plant section!)

Cyprinids Again, the green border seems a little "off"...most aquatic themes are done in blues. The background is perfect! The red text seems a bit off also. Maybe do white or a very pale blue.

Live food The green border seems to work just fine with this page, I think. And the water-reflection background is nice.

Plant page All the green fits right in. But...it's rather plain, compared to the other pages. Maybe put a green background here? (outside of the text section, of course)

Chat seems fine (except my computer hates Java LOL)

Index Nice and extensive. You may want to explain what all those codes are. I assume the dates are not when you bought fish (if it is, I'm jealous! LOL), or those three letter sections before the dates. What does all that mean?


Somebody said something about sound. I don't have speakers, so I can't give any input on that. The bubble cursor is nifty! Some might think it's annoying, but I'm easily entertained

Over-all, it's pretty good for a first time page. I didn't even know how to do animated cursors when I started... come to think of it, I still don't!

enjoy building your site...check for copyright infringments, most folks if asked will give permission...as for paying for .com or whatever... dont pay...at freeweb change your blade118 to something to do with the subject you are trying to promote ie fish
then you will start to find you are being put on google altavista other search engines..
try it type in your search bar blade118 and you will find it brings you to the fish forum.
I have a web page which is not . anything but people find me buy typing in my name.
I am not dissing any other comment above Im just trying to see someone do what they want to do...
