Love the dark gravel. If I could go back to January when I was setting up my large tank I would definately use black sand or gravel instead of pale sand.

It's not to late u can change it. I did. Got to big plastic boxes for the fish binges the filter and heater in the box with the fish. Emptied the tank as much as u could scooped all the old gravel out and the replaced it filled tank back up put one of my filters it to clear the water a bit before putting fish back in and after a couple of hours hey presto sparkly new looking tank.

Changed from tacky gravel to sand on a small tank last year but this would be much harder. I've got a layer of aquabasis under my sand too. Changing it would be very messy I reckon and although I love the black sand look I don't think I'm even going to go there.
