Made A New Addition To My Discus Tank

went into the lfs today after work to get some more tetra prima , had the obligatory peruse around the tanks , and saw that they had some true rummynose tetras , which i have been after for my discus tank for ages. so i grabbed myself 20 . i love the shoaling behaviour , especially when they all go bombing along the front of the tank from 1 end to the other in a big procession all following the leader .

i had these in with my discus tank and they were a great addition and never left each others side

Cool, rummynoses are one of my the best tetras out there IMO
I love how they constantly dart around the tank like mad

yep its great watching them all bomb around like mad things , they have added some movement to the tank. im tempted to go back and get another 10 tomorrow . they also had some sterbai corys which may accident;y find their way into the tank in the near futur too .

will oblige with some pics as soon as poss ian , but i am cameraless at the moment . i keep trying to get my mate next door to bring his dslr round and do some new shots for me , but hes all loved up with a new woman at the moment and i hardly ever see him these days i may have to go ebaying out of desperation soon !

I'm inferring from your posts, Mark, that these Rimmynose have gone straight in with the Discus?

If so you are a very brave man and I sincerely hope these new fish do not bring any ill health on your (probably #41#### expensive) Discus...

Had Rummy-Nose with Discus, and they were awsome If I were you, I would get even more, but then who can turn down a nice couple of Cory's?

yes they did have to go straight in as i havent got a qt , but they are from a trusted place that i know the fish house manager and they quarentine all fish for several weeks before putting them on sale , so its a calculated risk . all be it not ideal but i feel the risk in this instance is minimal.

I just purchased my first discus today too..... now what to add with him, rummynose tetra or german blue rams! decision decisions!
Yeah I'm like you, my trusted LFS does my qt for me too. They usually gives me a heads up on the new shipment arrivals so I can take a look at them when they get them in, but they wont be for sale for at least 2-3 weeks of observations.

my mate is bringing his camera round some time today to do some pics for me so il be putting some new pics of the tetras and the discus on , probably tonight
