This morning my dog was wandering around the house with something in his mouth. He has a habit of hunting cockroaches and the like so I figured it was one of those. I went to remove it from his mouth and realised it was a large blue fish
I took the fish, checked it, it was certainly dead
What I think happened was : the cat was walking along the top of that tank....she sits there and watches the fish.....if she hees anything interesting she has been known to push the tank glass lids across to take a better look, and possibly a meal
My guess is she did this last night, then lost interest, however there was a substantial gap in the glass at the top. The fish tend to jump at the best of times so I am guessing the Cytocara jumped, there was no lid to stop it and it landed on the carpet. Most likely it has died through the night then in the morning the dog has found the fish and decided that it would be tasty
It was a 6 inch Cyrtocara moorii. Bye bye big dude
