Ok, so I know it's a Juwel (cos it's got a badge on it!)

It is 31.5" x 13.5" x 16.5" to the water line making it around 115Litres (25 uk Galls or 30.US)

Anyone care to tell me the model or what it's called?

The only thing I can find wrong is the lighting sometimes works and sometimes dosen't, any ideas of the problem?

Anyway, managed to get it for £42 which I hope you'll agree is a bit of a bargain. Had to take the c**p filter, heater and a couple of chunks of bog-wood also. He also tried to off-load a massive bag of artificial plant, some pretty hidious orniments and THE most crazy back-ground but I managed to leave that on the pavement when loading the car

Anyway, what do you think?

you lucky S.O.B thats a real bargain. theres alot of bargains on ebay but i don't have the drivers licenses to get a bargain :(

probably a juwel rekord something al juwels are called that

congratz

Aye, it is a Rio 125. I was watching that one.

However, i managed to pick up another one, less than 12 months old, still with the box for a bit less than that :p

It was a local find (15 miles) He had it on for £60 starting but I managed to get him to le it go for 42!

I have just cut off the plug and switch to the lights and fitted a new plug. The lights came straight on but when I turn them off they wont come back on again.....the fuse is ok though.
If I leave it for a while they come on again but the same happen. Sometime they work and sometimes they dont

yes its a rio 125 around 2-3 years old or more (handles give it away the even older ones have black badges) the juwel internals are ok for standard stocking externals are a good upgrade tho

Sounds like a nackerd starter whats 50p-£1 your have to pull the ibar apart to get at it tho

Well done. I have seen some lovely tanks go through ebay sadly they are always way down south so I miss out. I want another 3-4 ft tank.

Its so wierd... I swap the fuse and it works right away and stays on. The moment I turn it off, even after only being on for a few seconds, it wont come back on. I swap the fuse and the same thing. I swap back for the original fuse and same again!! so it's not blowing the fuse or anything. Bloomin crazy, driving me nuts

Speaking as One Who Knows Nothing, any chance it's a loose wire or connector, maybe a worn/bent switch or something that might possibly be easy/cheap to fix?
I've had second-hand lights that worked about every second or third time I pressed, probably just crudded up a bit around the switch, as it did straighten out.
You've probably tried all that, but sometimes with the increasing computerized complexity of everything, the simpler problems do get overlooked...???

I have had this fault on my rio300 and rio120, cut the on/off switch out that seems to be a weak point, on both of mine i removed it and they are fine now, obviously i have to remove the plug to turn off the lights now, but if you could be bothered you can put your own on/off switch on.

Just remember this is only my experience no kicking my ass if you do this and it does not work :)

Cheers, Karl
