I put a new piece of zucchini in the tank this morning.  It wanted to float so I buried one end of it in the substrate.  My apple snail found it and has been attached to it since.   I just looked over at my tank and the zucchini has come dislodged and it and the apple snail are floating around the tank

 Wish you had gotten video. Snails do some funny and adorable things.

I didn't get a video but here is a picture. He is still stuck to it floating at the top of the water.. LOL    I am fixing to do a water change so I will try to put it back in the substrate.

That must have been a funny sight

to stop it floating just pour some boiling water over it and leave it to sit for a bit it should then soften up and sink another alternative is freezing and then thawing out to feed, it should sink, usually freshly cut will float.

I use a fork to stop it floating.

It is still in there. I don't know how long I can leave it.  It had a big chunk taken out of it last night. I don't know what fish or snail did that bit of work.

The fork idea works!

I didn't pour boiling water on it. I could try that as well
