Local Store Surprises!

Been looking online for a lid for my tank for around a month and wasn't able to find one suitable. Someone at my work mentioned a LFS near me that might have something but after previous experience with other terrible LFS's I didn't think he would be an ounce of help. After a month and no success online I decided to have a nosy round his store. It was amazing! he had everything from lids to CO2 kits, external filters, everything. Fish from discus to plecs. He even kepte frozen food. Managed to get a lid from him within 20 minutes for £40 and will definitely be using him in the future.

Anyone else went into an amazing LFS like this and blown away?

not an amazing LFS but mine has recently changed supplier and since are getting alot nice healthier fish in, also some amazing bettas which just happen to be my thing, best part is its only a 5 min walk down the road

I went to the new(ish) Maidenhead Aquatics in Plymouth for the first time today and was very impressed. The fish are perhaps a bit pricey, but they're super quality and even though it's quite small (tucked away in a garden centre) there were some really nice fish, including a few I'd not seen before.

We were particularly impressed by the Rift valley chiclids and the most stunning electric blue rams I've ever seen (though I guess it could be the lighting they're using; all the blue fish looked fantastic!)

The tank labelling was pretty good and there was lots of info on water quality and the importance of water changes dotted about, which was nice, and they also sell matured media for, get this, one penny.

Well worth a visit if you're in the area
