I have noticed that there have been several threads where members have tried very hard to sort out posters' problems without seeming to notice that their tanks (size given in litres) are severely overstocked. May I suggest that we should try to make it a habit always to check that we've understood information about tank size before we try to make a diagnosis? There are plenty of calculators online, so not at all difficult. Otherwise we are going to be wasting our time looking for rare and outlandish solutions when the problem is perhaps very simple.

I agree, there was a thread the other day where someone had a problem, it took about a page before someone said they were way overstocked with completely unsuitable fish.
