ok so im getting my tank ready for malawi cichlids and ive already got crushed coral about 1.5inches deep along the bottom.

for my rock scape ive jus gone and collected a load of limestone but im now thinkin this could raise the PH too much??

or will it be ok.

i have a couple of pieces of mopai wood in there too and that should buffer it a lil shouldnt it?

any advice would be helpful!

i wouldnt put the wood in the tank.it may lower the ph.the rest will be fine.i used crushed coral in the beginning and found lots of food, debris got stuck in between the gravel as the gravel is made of very large pieces.my tank now has black sand in the tank(looks loads better/easy to clean etc) and have put some coral gravel in the external instead.

so would the coral and limestone not over power the wood?

thanx for ya help!

Mopani is pretty hard would and doesn't have as much affect on the water as many softer woods, but the only way to tell how things are doing in there is to keep an eye on the parameters.
