Hi guys, I am fairly new to the forum but have a lot of experience with fish. My question is one of lighting. I have a 6'7" x 2.5' tank thats 26" high. I have had for about a year but can't seem to get the lighting right. I have tried a mixture of different varieties/ shades of T8 lights. 2 tubes, 3 tubes etc etc. and it always looks naff. Any ideas? Should I try LED's or T5's? I don't want Halides/ halogen due to the power consumption. I am not trying to grow plants in there so that is not a concern. Cheers

Anyone?

Have you tried using the anti 'naff' switch on the lights?

Perhaps if you explain what the problem is a little better some people will be able to give you better advice tha I just did.

Fair enough. It doesn't seem bright enough in there, even with 4 tubes the full length of the tank and I am unsure what combination of colours is going to bring out the best from the fish.
