I have a 120 gallon and will be starting my fishless cycle very soon. It's 72 inches across and I need some lights. I could get 3x 24inch lights, or 2x 36inch lights. I'm wondering if I should go LED or just stick to good old Florescent. I might have a few plants, but the plant needs will be minimal. But the fish will need some good light.

I don't exactly want to spend a fortune, but I'm also not looking for the cheapest DIY solution.

ANY THOUGHTS?

Thanks community!

Get three goosenecks with a clamp and three LED spotlights. That's what I have over my tank.

These are for the UK, I doubt you'll have difficulty in finding equivalents for the US:

Put them one each 1 foot from the side of the tank and one in the center, so they each cover 2 feet of tank.
Make sure to choose the cool white colour, or more precisely something around 6500k, which is natural sunlight color.
