I have 2 new Rams....can you help me sex them please? They stay either side of this ornament thing, and when they see each other, they fight!

Good of you to help Rory out here, Paradise.... My guess would be... First pic.... Male on the right ... female left.... Second Pic..... Female, and last pic.... Male!......... and finally... just a comment.... The setup looks good, but they need some conditioning to breed.

hmm, well, i'm afraid that the second pic is of the fish on the left hand side in the first photo. and photo 3 is of the fish which is on the right hand side in the first photo....

This is my 26 L QT...they will be going into my planted 360L with my 50 cardinals in a couple days when i have established all is well. But i dont think these two like each other at all, so breading does not look so likely just now haha

Just my 4 months experience with my bolivians, since they are in QT, i'm assuming you got them recently. I introduced my bolivian female after a while my male bolivian male was in the tank. When i introduced the female, the male was always after it, like as soon as it sees the female it would always go after her and push her away. I was very worried. But after 3-5 days (dont remember exactly), he understood that she is not a threat to him and not going to take over his territory but she is actually a female. Now they are always together and show off to each other as well. So may be give him a bit of time, if one of them is indeed a female.

Also, when they lip lock, if its between two males, then it would be a bit more violent and if between a male and a female, it will be a bit gentle. Well that's from my limited experience with only two rams.

Yeh, I just got them on Wednesday. I put them in my QT as the cardinals were coming from elsewhere, so prefer to keep them separate until they settle in. Thanks for the info, i will keep an eye on them for a while and hopefully they will pair up!
