This has been a very peaceful tank, even with several spawnings.

My lake Tanganyika tank has two dwarf a. compressiceps, two j. transcriptus and six n. multifasciatus with new fry. No color in this tank but interesting patterns and behaviors. I’m amused by the multies. Now that there are fry the multies have become territorial. They chase away fish that are five times larger than themselves. It’s like watching a mouse scare an elephant.

Have they not attacked your fingers yet? It's an amusing experience.

One of the dwarf Altolamprologus compressiceps just swam into one of the Multies’ shell and gobbled up some juveniles. No wonder there is a paucity of multi juveniles from this first spawn.

Despite the onslaught by a. compressiceps and j. transcriptus, the Multi juveniles persevere. If they can last another week they may become too big to eat.

I count six juveniles today. Here is one near his mother. Predation has been an issue.
