Krib Sick!

Stats= Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 30, pH 7.6

So all seems ok. It could be a bacterial infection but then why no symptoms?!?

Signs of a bacterial infection with no symtoms are.
Being pale or darker in colour, being listless and lethagic, and sometimes not eating.

Ok here are my choices...

1) QT him and treat with Interpet anti internal bacteria
2) Wait for wormer and treat tank and see if he improves
3) Treat whole tank with Interpet anti internal bacteria (to be safe)
4) QT and see what he's like there?

Also I currently have 6 cherry barbs, 4 dwarf frogs and a cockatoo cichlid in my quarentine tank. Can I treat with these fish still in there as the cichlid is in there because she turned into a boy and can't be kept with my other adult boy. And the frogs because they don't manage to get any food in the main tank.

Thanks

** Internal** Bacterial Infection. It is showing symptoms, what your seeing are the symptoms.

What I mean by no symptoms is that i'm assuming because he is hiding away that he is sick.. he could be being bullied (but i don't think so), or may just like thick plants.

You would have to remove the frog and ask in the invertbrates section of the forum, think its more the parasites med they don't tolerate.
It won't harm to worm your fish think I would take that route first with the krib.

He's still not eating so I was thinking maybe just treat the whole tank with the anti internal bacteria as I have no idea when this wormer is going to arrive and i def think there's soemthing wrong with him as he hasn't eaten for so long.

Is it ok to just treat the whole tank? Or are there problems with this?

Thanks

Ok treat the fish with a bacerial med is your dicision, don't forget to increase aeration.
I would check on the frog about the bacterial med, as i'm not sure.

I meant treat my whole main tank, not the QT.

Is there any harm in treating... just as a precaution... and of course to try and help the krib?

Thanks

Bacterial meds get over used by fish keepers the more you use them the more the fish build a resistance up to them, so they no longer work.
In the uk don't have excess to very good bacterial meds so don't want to be using them that often.
You have shrimp in the tank I would check that you can use the med with the shrimp.

Ok so i have put him in QT and seen that he has like grains of sand on the bottom of his tail... ich right?

Don't move him treat for whitespot then in the main tank.
Remove the strimp.
Make sure you can use the full dose with the fish you have.

I put him in the QT tank already with a does of protozin. The thing is the female bit his tail when i 1st introduced him and the white stuff (which you can barely see) is just around the edges of his tail so I don't know whether it's just fungus growing on the injuries. All fish in my main tank are fine.. and really on close inspection what he has doesnt look like ich... i don't think.

Also right now i don't have enough protozin to treat my main tank so will see what protozin does to him until i can get hold of some.

As for the shrimp, they are so hard to catch but last time i used protozin i took the risk and left them in and they were all fine. Will remove them if possible though!

Thanks

Sorry to keep changing but now i cant actually see any white on him, I don't know whether it was something stuck to him (as theres lots of bits floating in the water from where i just took the carbon out of the internal filter. I'm going to work in a min but now i don't know whether to get out the protozin and give internal bacterial meds 1st or whether to continue with the protozin?

Hes really not looking good :(

Sorry I'm getting confused, I having no luck has my daughter just rang she got to go into hospital as her face swollen up.
White edging to fins is finrot.
If no spots on the fish don't add the whitespot med.
