Juwel Vision 260

Hi Guys, I am going to order the Juwel Vision 260 next Friday and have been told it will be delivered 21/12/09 (can't wait). I am going to order from Complete Aquatics but was wondering if anybody has used this company to have tanks delivered before? I think the tank full is meant to be about 48 stone heavy and where I will put it will mean to it supported by 2 joists as our downstairs has floorboards. I currently have a 100l tank and Me and 2 friends stood next to it and that was fine so I assume I won't wake up one night to find my juwel Vsion 260 has crashed through the floor? also would ( if there is room in the juwel filter) I be able to take my boilogical filter media out of my existing tank and put it within the juwel filter and transfer my fish over straight away so save me running both tanks at once. I have 5 small silver dollards ( not much over an inch), 1 firemouth, 2 keyhole cichlids, 1 6 inch id shark, 1 porthoplo 1 pictus cat, 1 feather fin cat so I think the juwel would be far from stocked? Any comments would be appriciated. thanks

Even in the larger tank you will be majorly over stocked. The firemouth can be aggressive and although it will be fine in the tank size you may find it harassing your much more peacefull keyholes. Again the dollars should be fine but are very skittish, which brings me to your other fish sorry to be the bringer of bad news

Pictus cats- need a group of at least 3 and become very shy and skittish without tank mates of the same species they also require plenty of hiding places and cover as they are prodominantly nocturnal.

Feather fin- This may look cute now but will grow and reach about 8 inches so bear that in mind they can also be slime suckers.

Hopolo- Prefers groups but should be ok singularly

They become 4ft long eating machines and can weigh as much as a person. These pangs should NOT under any circumstances be sold in pet or aquatic stores, they are just so unsuited to home aquaria. Hope i helped a little anyway.

cant help with the Tank supply sorry. interesting stocking, i like it. i would avoid the ID shark though. keep us up to date.

I have had the id shark about 5 years and suprisingly it is only about 6 1/2 inches. I haven't stunted it's growth on purpose but it's just a case that my LFS didn't advise me much at the time. The firemouth seems o.k but i did have 2 of them and the other starved to death as it was picked on it by the other. the feather fin has hit about 5 inches and has stayed this size the last few years. i wonder if I would be better off getting rid of the pictus, firemouth and pangathius and getting some small shoaling fish instead to go with the dollars and keyhole cichlids?. Also forgot to say i have 1 harlequin ( i did have a shoal but allowing them to die off) but the id shark has never gone near them. it's a shame so many LFS's get fish in to make money even though may not be suitable Pangathius, ghost knife fish etc!
