Just plain dumb

Gooooooooooooooooo BettaMomma!

I also sent her a message explaining that for starters her "tanks" were WAY to small, second the "rock" she includes looks like glass to me and those edges are not smooth which can harm the betta.

We will see if she responds. -_- What kills me is that she has 100% rating

Oh here is that wine bottle one.... I have to say it takes the cake.

To clean is very easy, just lift and pour water, right out of the top, rinse well and you are ready to go. I have had this fish in this tank for 4 months and he is doing very well and he is happy. Fish and shells and gravel not included.

Yes thats why he is so clmaped I could barely tell it was a betta. :grr:
If he just took out half of that gravel it would make a big difference in swimming room to the little guy. Still a stupid idea and a horrible tank for a betta. He lives in pompano beach, Florida....I believe that is only about an hour or so away from me. :shifty:

Darnit, I wish I had my own car. :p I'd purchase the wine bottle to crack it over his head, then maybe he'd learn.

She mentions it is safe to put bettas, goldfish, gouramis, and frogs in there. The darn thing doesn't even have a lid! Bye bye froggy and bye bye Betta. If they survive the first week in there anyhow.

And that guy that had the instructional video in the first post stated you should clean the water and tank after 3-4 weeks?! What an idiot! I doubt your betta would still be alive by then. Plus, he just pours the dirty water back in. :dunno:  :grr:

Ok, here is the response I got to my email telling her the tank was too small: (ebay item#4369263668)

You asked:
"What size is this tank? Bettas can't be in anything under at least a gallon."

"That is not true. Betta CAN stay in a tank least than a gallon. This Square is design for betta fish or afraican frog. So if you have a betta fish and look for a tank, this is the perfect tank for betta fish, I sold a lot though the ebay, and a pet store from PA bought 150 of this from me."

Sooo, I guess she knows it all, and can't be deterred. What is sad is that she sold so many.

edit: added ebay item#

I'm going to write him and simply ask him to modify one statement he has.
Currently he says..

"Not recommended for children"

I'm going to ask that he modify it to say...

"Not recommended for children OR bettas, but hell i'm looking to make some fast money so......"

You need to email her back and say

"Ma'am you COULD live in your closet, too, but would you be happy?"

And small turtles... WTF? Does she know anything? Please, everyone complain, the more complaints she gets the better. And if she makes one mistake in her info... We'll be on to her.

Oh yea. I know from experience you can't keep turtles in even a 10 gallon! Lol. My brother bought some red eared turtles from the flea market (they were half dollar size) and about a month or two later they were trippled in size until they finally got like 8 inches and were in a 10 gallon. My mom donated them to a LFS and they sold the first day. Plus, I DOUBT that bowl has a filter. Both Turtles and goldfish are VERY messy. We had to do 100% water changes like everyday with the turtles.

Emailed the porthole person:

Your little porthole fish tank is not nearly big enough of a place to keep a betta. It would be the equivalent to you living in your closet.

AND goldfish?!?!? Sheesh - they are completely messy and create LOTS of waste. Most of them are even too big and create too much toxic waste to be kept in a 5 gallon tank. You should really research what you're selling before you go ahead and try to make money off something so inhumane as this.

I don't know how, in good conscience, people like you can sell things like this to turn a profit without doing your research first to find out what proper living conditions of these animals are.

Please stop selling these containers. They are pathetically sad.

I am SUPER pissed off now.
This is the response I got from the port-hole betta wall hanging thingy:

"i have done the research...these fish come from the mud and puddles in the rice patties in thailand and the bowl is a castle to them they are used to barely any water and this is alot , you need to do the research, and then bother people. i have 5 bowls with bettas and they have been there for 4+ years, and they DO NOT JUMP OUT >>>>NEVER...you leave aabout 1-2" inch space and its good. all the stores keep them in and sell them in is a cup and they will survive there for years. so bother someone else, i will sell as many as i like, dont buy one and it wont be your problem. "

I am composing my response now.
I will post it later.
