Yeah, ill add some more plants... Ive been permanently put off live plants as i used to keep coldwater fish and had a bad experience with them

Try LIVE plants, but make sure they are true aquatic plants if they're not they'll rot in your tank.

The live plants help to control your stats, i would advise that one of the first things you get are moss balls, they help to control the nitrITE, only a little, bit but every little helps!!

Hmm any ideas where i can get the moss balls from? The easiest shop for me to get to is pets at home. Do they stock them?

Not too sure about yours, but mine do, and they are bloody expensive, 3 for £9, my local LFS are 3 for £5, try looking online for them.

Just water, lights and a filter. put them in and leave them, it's as simple as that.

i just did a 50% water change to get rid of some ammonia and nitrite... I have a 10L bucket so i took 30L of water out and added 3 buckets back in... First two buckets were fine. Third one, as i finsihed adding it to the aquarium i thought "Did i dechlorinate that?" Immediately i put enough dechlorinator by the filter/bubbles in for the 10L. And im just hoping it didnt affect anything in the time it had

I've heard of people adding the dechlor directly to the bucket with the new water, or directly to the tank as they are putting the new water in. Either way works. I personally always put it in the bucket so I don't forget.

That'll be no problem, that little amount won't affect the water stats at all.

leave it for an hour then take another reading.

As many as you want, i've got a 110ltr tank with 5 moss balls in, and that looks ok with all my live plants, most LFS sell 3 for a certain price, just get the three and see how it looks.

Just reading over your thread it looks like greenscooby has helped you out quite a bit.

Looks like you got everything under control, with your water parameters looking good.

Oh, and by the way, your tank looks nice, and I am glad to see you are using a very good Test Kit!
