Ok time for an update.

Numerous Shells have been added, the rock work rearranged slightly and the tank now hosues

2 Juile Dickfeldi
3 Brevis Sunspot
The Juiles are begining to colour up again, and the bervis are slowy starting to come out of there shells, metophorically and literaly one is already quite the explorer

the last fish i plan to add are 2 Neolamprolgus birchadi, both belive to be female from a friend leaving me with a stock of:

2 julie dickfeldi
3 Brevis Sunspot
2 Neolamprolugus Birchardi

How would that look?

Personally I would pass on the Brichardi and get a small shoal of Paracyps as they will occupy the areas at the top of the rocks, rather than competing with your julies.....

Hmm good thought, that would help to fill the top of the tank, which is a little empty at the moment!

UPDATE:

Disaster strikes....i have been away for the past 5 days, and have returned to a tank of dead fish, water freezing cold and full of filter crap.....turns out the aforementioned work in the cellar cut the power for the last 4.5 days.

This causes me several issues, not least the cost of replacing the fish, I will appeal to the landlord good nature and see what I can achieve, he gave permission for the tank, but I am not really hopeful. if no help form that direction is forth coming, i may move to the original plan a, (dropped when i first so Dickfeldi in the flesh, and acquire a number of juvie Neolamprolgus Birchardi (some form my friend, some form another source, for variety of blood line) and see if I can eventually get them to breed, pending no more idiotic cutting of power cables. as these will be free form my friend and say around £15 to pick up a few more form a store. Not the £40 odd quid to replace what was lost, money I simply no longer have.

So now I will completely strip down the tank give everything and good clean and start again, luckily there still a nice source of mature filter media nearby
