Both looking good guys

Walt just bear in mind the micro sword grows quite slowly and you really need to seperate the strands rather than bunch them together, but it will look great as a foreground when it fills in.

And pseud you worried you mightnt have enough plants.....lol........you are going to be busy pruneing very soon. You definatly have to many plants along the back row, its like a wall of plants, play around with the planting or perhaps add some hardscape like rocks or driftwood, this will break up the aquascape a bit better, but just play around with it and you will soon get a better feel for what looks good.

But both great starts, both looking very good.

Thanks Zig!

If I were to just play around with the planting, what would you suggest I do?

Well, I pulled everything forward, spaced it out a little better. Everything was too cramped and the plants and leaves couldn't fall naturally, so anyway, looks better.

I have a 6700k light on the left and an 8000k light on the right. I'm really unhappy with the 6700K. I don't like the green tint it puts out, makes everything look weird. You can't tell so bad in the photos. But I know it's better for the plants, although I'm so tempted to change it to an 8000k.

Lookn Great Pseud!!

Look at this sword plant growth!!
I noticed this new leaf just growing outta the ground when i went to work, and when i got home it was like 6-7 inches long!!

Here i am holding up a bottle of beer for scale...(and a great beer at that!! Bigfoot Barleywine :hey: )

Dude, that's insane!

What's the plant on the right?

Ya know, i dont remember... some quick growing thing i picked up from petsmart.... some kinda Ludwigia, maybe?....
Its now grown from the bottom of the tank to the top 4 times over the last month.... im cutting it back all the time...what youre seeing is the top from a recent cutting..... need a lawn mower for that one.... ;)

Walt

It looks kinda nice! If you ever have a sudden urge to mail something to CT I'll take a cutting!

 ;)

I'm really not liking my Mexican Oak Leaf. It looks kinda like a mixture between dark vomit green and diarrhea crap brown. LOL Hate the color. All the pics I've seen have been nice and bright, and the new sprouts are coming through that color, I just hope they stay that way and replace the old color as it becomes established. Otherwise, it's going in the bin!!

I just added some more fish tonight, 2 Angels, 6 Otos, 5 Phantom Tetra. I'll post pics soon.

Thought I'd post this also since the plants look pretty good in the pic. A few other images can be found here:

Hi pseud,

did you say that you have one bulb one side and the other bulb the other.

Just out of interest which bulb is over the left? I prefer the lighting of the left hand side.

That's the 6700K bulb on the left side; green hue to it... the one I hate lol

With not much algae in your tank, what food do you generally suplement your oto's with? I have some ATM, and they have eaten alot of algae lol, im interested in what you feed urs! :D

I just got them literally a day or two ago, so I haven't fed them anything else yet as I've wanted them to clean up the tank a bit. Tonight, I'll feed them some sinking algae wafers that I have left over from my clown plecos. I think they're Hikari brand. I'll also try them with zuchinni sometime too.
