i have just tied a clump of java moss to an old filter sponge and floated it in my tank.

will it grow?

thanks

Java moss will grow as long as you keep it in water. For the most part.

I never had any luck with my java moss, does anyone have any tips to help?
Would attaching it to some filter spong work? if so large pores or smaller ones?

Tie it to wood, put it in tank which has a light, watch it grow.

Really, it doesn't not grow. If you can't grow it then your tank must be full of coca-cola or something
It starts off a little slow though I have found. Give it a month and then it starts growing properly.

lol ok thanx, if i cant get hold of wood what else can i use? i tried tieing it to a lava rock

It will attach to pretty much everything with a rough surface after about a week if tied down well. It's actually also been known to attach itself to glass after a very very long period of time (so long that you shouldn't even worry about that)
