Hey there people, just finished setting up my 400L tank and only need
to add the fish!

I really like the idea of a pair (or single) Jag.

I want to know if one/two will be ok in the tank?

And i know they are very agressive but will a bottom
dweller like a birchir be ok in there or not?

iam deff no exspert on jags but how big is the tank?
i have one which is about 4inches.....at mo hes in with two oscars 1 green terror 1 severum 1 female firemouth 1 redtailed shark.......up till now i havent had 1 prob with it......there in a 5ft/2ft/2ft.........566 litre.........

people have told me i should lose him from tank before he goes on a killing spree.......so might be selling him very soon.dont want to but havent got room for another tank

I dont know how your one works out at 566 litres?

anyways i know there quite docile when young but as
soon as they mature they get very agressive

i could get the bichir first and then introduce the Jag
but theres still no telling!?

I juwel rio 400 is 400 litres.They are 5ft x 20 x21 or so not 5x2x2,which is 566 litres

I would say yes. The bichir needs a thin pipe so the jag cant get to him and the bichir can feel safe if the jag gets aggro.
Get a larger bichir like an ornate so it can grow big enough not to be on the menu and so it can take the damage it the jag turns on it.
Also, look for a female jag, they arnt as aggressive or terratorial. Whatever you do dont get a pair and expect to be able to keep it with other fish.
