Some of you may have read my thread in Tropical Chit Chat called 'I have wood'. Well, after soaking for plenty of hours, and boiling, and soaking for plenty more, I've rearranged the tank and these pics are the results of several hours of aquascaping.

The piece in the back right corner refused to sink, so I had to unscrew the piece of slate that was on the piece of wood that was previously in my tank, and attatch it to the new piece. Then because of the angle of the wood, I wanted it as flush to the corner as possible, which meant having it on an angle. I piled the gravel in the corner to create a slope and I really like it actually. Makes it much more interesting than just flat.

The tank looks very very good! :D I love the wood in there...and I'm sure the fish enjoy it too!

I am impressed with the look and price of the wood you got. I am most likely going to purchase from that site as well.

Question though, did the water that you soaked the wood in get very tan? I know the site says they won't tan your water, but I'd rather get a customers testomony.

btw- your tank looks great

Thanks guys.

The water did tan when I soaked it in the bathtub, but very slowly and not a great deal. It was enough for me to notice it. When I boiled it, it tanned alot. The second boiling produced less coloring than the first, significantly less in fact. Soaking it for the second time again tanned the water, but much much less than the boiling and much less than the first soaking.

As far as it being in my tank goes, I haven't really noticed it changing the water color. I thought it might have, but I think that might just be because of the wood in there, giving it a different ambiance. So if it does tan it, I think the filter takes care of it and it's nothing that will detract from the beauty of the aquarium.
