I've got 2 now. The Combiset did only basic tests so I purchased the lab kit. Cost around £160 for the 2 kits.

I had forgotten how expensive the test kits are. £112.50 for a Pro JBL Aquatest kit from an LFS.

Sadly, too late now*, but I would've recommended the API Freshwater Master kit.

*Consider yourself 'future-proofed'.

I'm thinking of adding surface plants to the tank. I would say the tank has a medium to fast surface flow generated by the Fluval FX6. I know some surface plants do not like a decent flow rate, any ideas folks?

If you need to reduce your flow and your filter doesn't have that adjustment feature, you can always fix sponge to/in the outlet/s.

I'm considering adding UV to the Fluval FX6. I just have to work out how to connect it all up to the FX6.

Just an update on how the tank is going. Mollies are breeding like wildfire, there is around 25 to 30 small fry at various stages of growth.
