I've got convict babies!

I bought three convicts before they were big enough to sex. It became obvious that I had a pair and an odd male when the one began beating up the smaller male. I removed him.

I never gave a thought to them breeding as my youngest son keeps tossing things in their tank. Things like rice, peas, etc, and I have to fish them out. (He's 18 months old and wants to feed the fishies when mommy isn't looking) I go to feed all the aquariums tonight, and think, "Great he's thrown rice in there again". Then I see the rice darting around. I have a TON of babies!

If you are in my part of the world I'll take some off your hands when they are big enough.

Of course, no one is in my part of the world. I am not even here often.

Do you have a viable way to deal with the fry¿?....Once they start, seperation is the only way to stop them and they are more than capable of having new batches of fry every 3-4weeks.

If there are other fish in the tank, and this is their first spawn, they will probably eat the babies. Wait and see though, you may have some good parents on your hands.
