i think iv found my problem it turns out the place i get my water from for my marine tank have been mixin the salt 2high
the tank is 140L and thay were mixing my water at 870g + minrals..
thay give me 6X25L barrels with that mix in

iv taken out 25l and put normal ro water in and its lowerd the salt level to what it should b its 2 numbers under so im gona give it a day or 2 then top up/water change again with more salt water....

my new mix is 800g + minrals

thanks for every1s help

and i hope this will solve my problem already the salt creep has slowd down

are you working out your salinity with numbers or using a hydrometer/ refractometer to measure it?

ello m8

im useing a hydrometer i was told the reading should be 1.023/1.022 at the moment its 1.021

what i was doin was when i had normal evaporation i was toppin the water up with my salt water what pushed the scale right up it was well over 1.030 before i added the ro water now its 1.021 so its maybe a bit low but a lot better then it was

iv jus tested the levels again all at 0 but ammonia still 0.1ish

all my coral are open and the other1 i sai was closing isnt doin it anymore..

dose that salt level sound ok m8? as uknow im not very expranced with this lol

Thats a bit low,you want it at about 1.025 and to be honest those hydrometers(assuming its the swing arm type) are notoriously innaccurate, the one I had would read 1.025 when the water was 1.030. Getting yourself a refractometer would be a good plan(cheap enough on ebay) as they are much more accurate.
Regarding your ammonia level as I told you before IME those nutrafin kits always show ammonia at 0.1 in salt water.Salifert test kits seem much better and are highly regarded by many.
Hope that helps,
Johnny

you can have the salinity anywhere between 1.020 & 1.030 and you can make it lower if you are treating fish for problems. However, the optimum range is between 1.022 & 1.026.
Many inverts will stress if they are kept in water with a salinity near the extreme limits so if you have shrimp or corals try to keep it around 1.024
