Specifically HAIR ALGAE!!!. 
It's completly overrun one of my tanks. I do a water change and make sure i crub every square inch( how do u get it off the sand?) but it returns two days later like nothing ever happened?!? I'am serisouly at loss at what to do. Maybe a army of 10 Amano shrimps 
, or some oto's might do the trick? i dunno... 
oh and tank stats:
3 platys
4 harlequin rasboras
10 gallon
(not sure of the ph as the kit ran out a month ago, and i dont know when i might be able to replace it?) last time i checked it was 7.2-7.4 a bit hard but thats how my tap is.
