My darling other half bought me an aquarium to 'give me something to do' a i didnt have a hobby and was, well bored.

But since getting it, it has become a 'whole family' hobby which we all enjoy together!

the kids love cleaning the tank, feeding the fish, water changes etc (they are 2, 4 and 7) why they cant be more helpful in other areas of the home i dont know!

so i just wondered does anyone else here share their hobby? or is it yours and yours only?!

:-)

My tanks are just mine, my boyfriend isn't interested in helping me with my fish.

Mine are pretty much my own until it comes to the layout.... if we go to a LFS I get told which ornaments, plants etc i should spend my money on.
Then when we get home i get told which ones to change, move etc.

Never any input when it comes to cleaning and water changes  although she does feed them for me quite often

Just mine, my mum and dad arent really bothered - they compain though when i want to buy stuff for the tank!!

All mine bwhahahaha :P :yahoo:

The rest of my life and time is spent looking after kids, cleaning up after kids, cooking for kids (you get the point), so my fishies are all for my own enjoyment and I dont care about the huffs and puffs of disapproval when I buy yet another tank or another fish or say Im just off out for a look around the fish shops :hyper:

Pretty much mine, although my GF does take an active interest in the fish.

She loves to watch and feed them all, and enjoys looking at (and picking out) new fish at the LFS. She's also encouraging me to get a new tank setup!

But when it comes to doing all the work and spending the money, the hobby is all mine. Something not quite right there I think!

i know what you mean about the cooking for kids cleaning up after kids, thats all i ever seemed to do, hence why my OH wanted me to have a hobby :-)
motherhood has its rewards but can take over your whole time sometimes.

ALLL MINE, MUAHAHAHAHAHA! My dad ( he gave me my first "tank), my mom, and my 3 borthers and 2 sisters dont share little to none intrest. SOmetimes, my mom will be like " Ohhh, pretty fish", or my little sister will say ": Is that on pregnant?", but other than that, im stuck buying filter, lights, decor, fish , plants, gravel, food, ect. At 14 its almost too much for me, i still owe like 30 dollars on a new tank i bought ( 30g). Im still the one doing w/c, chroes around the house, gardening, so i think i derserve my own little thing to do!

Fish are only my think and the tanks are both mine. Mum and dad help out with a bit of money, but i spend a lot of my own.
They just think i'm strange when i spend so much time and effort on them, and when i ask for fish tanks and supplies for my birthday lol

My tanks are all my own. I'm responsible for everything from feeding them and water changes, to medical care. My parents and brother (and his family) all show an interest, but the care of the fish are all mine.

I get told what fish by my folks, and have the odd one bought for me, but all the work, scaping and the majority of the supplies and fish purchases are my responsibility

All the best
Rabbut

all mine, although the tank is in the living room so all can be enjoyed.

I am setting up a small (25L) tank in my bedroom on my desk though for a puffer

all mine im totally obsessed lol started out i got a 120l tank as a present for my other half as she has always bwanted 1, however i kind of took over lol as i was instantly hooked my other half does take a slight interest ie sometimes she looks in the tank or if i come back from lfs with new fish she is interested but its basicly become my toy............... even to the point that as for a combined birthday and xmas pressie she is buying me a shiny new 240l tank........ great girl!!!!!! all i need to do now is convince her it should be a 2nd tank not a replacement lol

Actually, my hubby is more into the fish now than I am. He feeds them, but I clean them though.
