this is only temporary as this is my shrimp tank. i picked up a 4cm halfbeak today...very cool fish! also two 3cm pygmy corys. they are so tiny, i love it! also with my purchase is a red cherry shrimp(very beautiful). i will add pics tonight. right now theyre floating in their new home. after they grow a little bit i am going to release them with in my community tank.

is this ok? both species are very peaceful. i removed my two pictus, and my pleco today...took em to the pet store for 10 bucks store credit!! as well as my animals i got a bit of java moss and some short and tall Vallisneria.

my questions are, will my fish be ok? there is no heater for now(its summertime, buying one soon) and the temp is at 77.

pictures comming soon! after i work on my larger tank

what size is tank, and what are ur water stats??

the pygmy corys may be ok, but cant count on it.

what size is cherry shrimp and how many did u get??
the halfbeak may eat them as well, but they do usually stay at the surface but i wouldnt trust it though

the tank is 3 gallons, tons of cover...i dont have a test kit yet...but things have been stable. if i see any problems with the fish ill just throw em in my 36. i just bought 1 cherry shrimp(all they had)..it was 5 USD though:(

all i know about starts are ph is good and temp is between 76-78

what about ammonia, nitrite, nitarte and ph.

this is far too small tank for a halfbeak. 3 foot tank is really what they need

Both the cories and the shrimp are very social, they would do alot better in greater numbers. Make sure you have a tight fitting hood for the Half-beak, they like to jump. ;)

Being long and narrow, the Half-beaks should be in a 32" long tank, this is the recommended minimum.

I'm soon to be introducing more cories in my tank, just incase your wondering why i also have only two. :good:

k, thanks for the advice! the halfbeak will be going into my 36 soon..i just think my tank looks awesome with a still swimming fish like this. he seems happy, already gobbled up the flakes i fed him. pics will be in the photo section later tonight
