Is This A Crowntail?

I've just bought this little guy...his name is Robin. He was labelled Crowntail, but that doesn't seem right to me. can anyone confirm or identify, to save me an hour googling

he's a cross breed and an F3 possible, someone has been working with tail types and this is the desired effect so far and they should by the looks of it be 1 or 2 generations away. I'm working on this tail type at the moment and this is exactly what im expecting to get soon.....oh exciting!!!!!!!!!!, only ever seen one before, there is a particular feature to the tail that shows this. The breeder will get a great tail type very soon by crossing again with a different tail type and will hit the market with a massive BANG!!! and it looks like they are gunna get there before me swines!!!!!!!!!!!! its a matter of adding genes first and then subtracting genes to obtain the correct tail.

and nope im not telling you the tails types.

Well, considering I got him at Walmart, I guess i did pretty well! I'm actually considering trying my hand at breeding. I'm a little scared I won't be able to sell them, and I'll end up with babies all over the house!!! I've just set up a female Sororiety...Ummmm....

well he is a stunner and will produce some lovely fish, but be aware that he holds at most 3 types of tails in his history so you will end up with a high mix of different tails, i would spawn him, you will always find people to have the young.

this is what happens very often, breeders work with tail types in the hope to creeate something new and the unwanted are sold on to chain stores etc....

Cool fish! hope we get pics of full flare soon; prob. just me but looks almost like doubled rays or mirror-image or something.
If Modaz, SharonCC or anyone else is breeding these soon, I'll have to move into the basement where there's room and floor support for more tanks.

Well, I certainly wish I had experience in breeding. I don't even know what fin type my females are...they were labelled "Female Bettas"....I've never seen this guy flare. He hid for days, and didn't have a good appetite. He's doing much better now, but no flaring. I think he's a big "wuss", and the female will scare the heck out of him...
