Is My Guppy Pregnant ?

No bother. The only problem is that he will grow better if he has more room. Not sure how big the breeder net you are using is.
Can we get a picture of him when he grows up

i'll put some pics up tomorrow.

the net is about 7inch long 3 inch wide and 3 inches tall. its a pets at home branded one

An inch long guppy fry is growing nicely and should be able to do fine with the adult guppies. I find that once you have guppies from 2 or 3 drops, enough survive on their own from every drop.

I couldn't get decent photos in the breeder net so decided to wait till the weekend water change. Having an awful day though, we woke up to water all over the floor. my external filter had cracked and had water everywhere. I have a little internal filter but it was only a helping hand and is not meant to work alone in a tank as big as mine. was scouring everywhere for a discount code for All pond solutions. (not a good time of year money wise) but they dont seem to have a working code.

anyway, back to nemo. he/she is getting a yellow speckled tail just like mum (dad is all black)

I have put nemo in the big tank and he/she is amazing. the other fish accepted nemo straight away and he/she is swimming around with loads of confidence

We just had another batch of fry from a different female guppy. i noticed my female looking very fat and she was sat on top of the rocks in the tank. i put her in the breeder net and she delivered at about 6pm today. about 10 were born dead and 12 survived. she did eat some before i could take her out

is it common to have so many stillbirths ?

No this isn't very common, you probably put her in to early so she aborted from the stress of the small trap, she must have aborted the ones that weren't fully developed.

You can Stress the female by moving them to a breeder net or trap to soon. it can course stillbirths it is best to remove female to a small tank about 2 weeks before she gives birth put in some plants for the fry to hide it will also make the female fill more at home remove female once fry are born . stillbirths Should be 0. fry surving to adults Should be over 9o%

its a real shame, the others are quite large and healthy. i think i will keep this batch and just leave them to it in future. i dont want to have more as i dont want over crowding

im actually starting to think nemo is a little boy.

i think if you click on the picture it will play but im not sure how to embed the video to the post
