Hi guys,

so i recently got my 40 gallon tank off ebay it is up and running perfectly but i was wandering if my Filstar XP 2 is large enough for this tank?

Here it is: http://www.aquariumguys.com/filstarxp2.html

i know it says about large enough for a 75 gal tank but i have read on posts around here that they can lie about the power of the filters?

Tank Dimensions: 39" L x 18" H x 16" D

Fish:

Angelfish x2 (Male And Female Laying Eggs YAY!! :hyper:)
Panda Garra x1
Cory Doras (Bronze) x4
Cardinal Tetra x7
Penguin Tetra x6
Cherry Barb x7
Black Widow Skirt Tetra x3

So is this filter able to keep this tank healthy?

Any replies GREATLY appreciated

thankssssss

So long as your readings stay 0 for both ammonia and nitrIte and you do weekly water changes then its perfectly fine for your fish. What makes you think its not big enough?

i got a SLIGHT nitrite reading, perhaps im overfeeding.

and you can never be to sure, as i dont know nothing about filters, as in what the numbers and stuff mean, ill have to do some learning
