Is It The Enviroment?

ive had a 30 gallon set up for a while now but seem to of had nothing but problems since i rehomed my existing fish into this from a 20 gallon tank that sprung a leak. When i was running the 20 gal it was in my lounge i kept to a strict weekley water changing routine and everything was perfect then it sprung a leak luckily i had this 30 gal that i was going to move to eventually but because of the leak i had to set it up asap. I used all equipment and water from 20 gal and kept the fish in a purpose bought bucket with tank water in and a heater so there was minimum temp changes and stress to the fish overall. At first things were fine then after a couple of months i introduced new stock which id selected weeks previousley to make sure they were healthy stock but after a week i lost my first fish from the new stock to finrot i did water changes ect which helped slightly but then i got more deaths so i did extra changes but nothing changed i kept losing fish as a last resort i used myxazin after a water change and did a full course then used carbon in my filters in after. I added Fluval u3 filter and the heater was upgraded a few days after the tank change. Ive done everything i can think of to cure this but im still having problems all i can think is it maybe down to the 30 gal being in the diningroom that is ajoined to the kitchen where it gets really cold on these winter days especially overnight i noticed a couple of times in the mornings that the temp had dropped a degree it could of been lower when i was sleeping??? also i think the dryer could be dispelling chemicls/detergents into the atmosphere i dont have a test kit but then again i never have in 10 years the only other disease ive ever had was white spot when i set my first tank up. Im going to relocate to a new tank back in the lounge a 4ft fluval model any way but would like to know your opinions on the enviroment issues and would it be a bad idea to use any of the decor and equipment in the new tank as i wanted to run my new external in with medium from the 30 gal tank.

also i have a bristlenose that keeps getting the finrot on and off could he also be a factor hes around 4yrs old

you need a LIQUID test kit and we need to know ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate to be of any real help. My best guess is that something is likely wrong with your water. I highly doubt it is the environment outside the tank that is the issue here.

ok thanks will look to buy a test kit at the weekend and go from there.

Can't really help with the fish problems, but I'm sure you will get more responses if you format your post into paragraphs so it's easier to read. Lots of people will be put off reading a 'wall of text'.
