Is It Safe?

I broke my test tube for water checks so was wondering
if i can just drop the chemical into the tank and see if the water changes color?

Real question is, is it safe to use that black bend the beep anywhere wire that you get tied to packaging when you buy stuff?

I found an old plastic plant with them stone glued bottoms, i only wanted abit of it so i ripped the 'leafs' off
& tied them together with that black wire then stuck the wire under the gravel so the fish cant get to it.

If you get what i mean? lol.

It's perfectly safe; I use it for holding down lettuce for my plecs and have never had a problem with it.

if there are any metal pits showing at either end, I would not use it unless the metal is completely encased. Some species are very sensitive to metals in the water and if it was not intended for long water exposure and exposed metal could rust over time

It's completely covered in that plastic, for now anyway lol.

I will prob remove it in next few weeks anyway, trying to change my tank layout atm but i accidently knocked a bucket of water over (WHAT A MESS).
As everything i do today has turned into a mess (one of them days lol), i called it a day and left it be until next week lol.
