Is A Angel Suiptable?

I have a JAD/ORCA MT 50 aquarium. It's twenty four gallons. I believe it is over 18 inches high. Is this suitable for just one angelfish? Somewhere I heard they need more vertical room than horizontal.

Also can a background be put inside the tank? Are they waterproof?

There are background castings made that can go inside a tank but I have never used one. I like to keep the volume of water in the tank that it is designed to hold and put the background on the outside. A 24 gallon tank that is tall enough for the angel would likely be fine. I do not worry about tank height as much as some people but at 18 inches it should be plenty. My angels only use the top foot or so of their tanks anyway. Angels are not energetic swimmers, they are ambush hunters that will strike a fish swimming by at high speed but only move an inch or two in the process. As long as you don't try to keep them with small fish, they are not usually a problem in a community setting.
