Still a bit away from being able to actually go and buy fish so im contenting myself with making up my wish list

1 snag i dont know what i want lol I did originally want 2 angel fish as my main fish (My tank is 240l) but according to aqadvisor thats almost 40% stocking with those 2 alone which to me is a bit much to devote to 2 fish ?

What im looking for is obviously some impact fish to make you go wow ! then fish for top middle and bottom. I'd like to try and incorporate some schoalers if at all possible.

The main criteria i have in mind is variety of colours and shapes (although im flexible im not going to put unsuitable things next to each other just because they match lol)

If anyone has any fish they would recomend or even better a stock list I'm all ears obv i may want to tweak it but im looking to try and get a reference list type of thing so i can mold and shape it from there if that makes sense ?

You be able to have a decent school of larger tetras with the angels in a 240l tank. You could also get some kind of plec if you wanted, there's loads of different things you could keep.

The way aqadvisor works isn't linear, each fish isn't assigned a set percentage so adding a third wouldn't take it to 60%, the first few fish always make the largest impact.

What confuses me is the filtration capacity reading on aqaudvisor i realise it uses 66% of filters capacity but even taking that into account its telling me my fluval 305 external filter cannot cope with 4 angels and 10 tetras ? Im no fish expert by any stretch but that seeems unlikely ?

Yeah that doesn't sound right, if you want angels ask in the new world cichlid section, you'll get lots of advice about stocking levels and tank mates. There's lots of threads in there about it so have a search through them to get some suggestions.

Hi sounds like fun so Ill give you an option in direction for the tank My tank is a 240 as well is it a Roma? Forget Aqadvisor its absolute balls most of the times. So if you want angels and shoalers how about something like -

3 Angel Fish
4 Cupid Cichlid
12 Flame Tetras
4 Spotted Headstanders
12 Panda Cories
2 Flash Plecs

Nice little South American biotope there The flame tetras could be any of the disk tetras but avoid the nippy ones like serpae etc just down to what you like so things like your bleeding hearts, flame backs, diamond, lemon etc. The cupid cichlids again down to personal preference, dwarf cichlids do well in these kind of tanks with Angels as they dwell in different areas angels stay up top and the dwarfs stay down bottom. For dwarf cichlids you have quite a few options, any of the apistogramma species would work in trios. Laetacaras and Krobia would be good as would any of the Guinacaras. Though some of these are sometimes hard to source where abouts are you from maybe someone could point you in the right direction? An easy to find dwarf however is the Bolivian Ram, I would avoid the Gold,Blue or Dutch ram as they have more specialist needs like low Ph and high temperatures. The cories could be any type of cory you like, the headstanders are there as something a bit different but if you dont like them you could go for anything else to tot up their stocking contribution. Also the plecs dont get commons Ive put flash in there but any of the smaller plecs like bulldog, bristlenose, medusa or snowball will be fine plus many many more

My tank dimensions are L 120cm D 40cm H 55cm - 240l (Fluval Roma 240)

you dont want three any way as if the others pair off it will be a third wheel and get hasseled

so either get 1 or enough to form pairs

Spent a few hours today looking at all the fish suggested quite a few of them are now on my list i really really like the look of the flash pleco's so much so im now scouting out bogwood for them just need to make sure i get the right stuff/size
