I'm Shocked!

After living together for 15 months or so my Clown Loach has killed and eaten my neon tetra, is this normal?

Mine developed a hate for guppy fry.

They used to go for the rummy noses when I dropped food into the tank.

Clown loaches do get to a good size... Most fish will eat smaller fish. I don't know about loaches, though.

I think it's always a good idea to use the rule of don't keep fish together that could fit into one-another's mouths! It's a rule of thumb often cited for catfish (if it fits in the catfish's mouth, it will be eaten) but I think it's a good idea to remember that almost all omnivorous, and all carnivorous fish MAY eat another tank-mate if it's at all physically possible!
