I have had my ropefish now for 6 years or so and it has grown now to approximately 12". Recently i mo water ved the tank (wether this is relevant or not) about a month ago and did a 50% water change. The ropefish amongst all the others in the tank all did fine, the rope fish having seemingly excessive energy. About a week ago I noticed one of my other fish bullying him a bit, as well as the small pleco I have had started sucking on the rope fish. The ropefish now lays at the top of the tank, where as it always stayed at the bottom in a cave. I noticed it floating vertically as well with apparent trouble leveling itself. He does dive in the tank every now again and swims along the top of the tank although it seems that he struggles most often to do it. By struggle, i mean his tail seems to stay afloat more than the rest of him and has less movement than the rest of him.

I read a post with similar description from cjc75 where his rope fish died shortly after his post.

Please help me avoid that kind of situation.

Thank You,

Jay

P.S. I am also on day 5 of a 7 day treatment of melafix in which i started to help the rope fish recover from this 'illness'
