Ideas On Betta Tank

hey everyone,
well i only have one community tank set up and i would like to set up a betta tank as well.
i have no idea what kind of tank,betta, and decor to get. your opinoins are greatly appreciated and pics of your betta and tanks would help me with ideas.

would you just want a betta? maybe if you want a female you can start a sorority. or you can make a betta community tank with bettas and other compatible fish

i think i would like to have just a betta maybe a one male and 1 female.

female and male will most likely kill each other if you want just bettas maybe a 3 gallon tank with live plant and a male betta

i no that when bettas spawn it is best to remove the female so if i have anther tank prepared for the female when time then i should be able to have the male and female together?

you cannot keep males and females together, only for a very short time whilst breeding

so a single male betta in a 5 gallon hex. tank should be great or no?

Community tanks with bettas are very beautiful because the betta becomes like the main attraction, you can keep a male betta with a few tetras(though they might be fin nippers). Never use guppies since their beautiful tails can make them a target. Platies are also good with a betta. A few corydoras can go in with a betta too! I can go on for hours with this, i think you get the point though right? Good Luck!

yea ive seen some other tanks with bettas in a community tank. but is there like one other fish or frog that could be placed with a betta because people keep posting there dwarf frogs dnt do good with bettas

African dwarf frogs are best housed in species only tanks. They have specific care they require and they often do not get the best care when housed with a fish. I personally do not recommend it.

I agree with Jen, they are very slow eaters and when kept with fish ofter starve

its awful, isn't it? so many frogs die under such circumstances that is a reason why on my personal website I offer to adopt frogs - hopefully it prevents some from living a brief and extremely unpleasant life in such situations

I have heard that a 2 males or 1 male and female will kill one another but having 2 females there is less chance. They are suited to smaller tanks if you don't have a large one so it isn't a problem. A 5 gallon would be a good size for 2 fish and you could add a couple of ghost shrimp in there too. My Betta fish really likes the red plant I put in my tank and likes bushy plants it can hide around. Hope this helps
