ive got a hex 2 gal sitting next to my computer. its sitting at about 75 degrees(no heater) but has aerator and underground filter. are there any easy plants i could put in there? i could look at a micro heater if i could do a lot with this. im willing to make it look wonderful if i have some ideas. will guppies be ok in there? maybe 3-4. i want gups and live plants. let me know

thanks guys

Well, you don't have many options. You could do a planted shrimp tank, or one betta. You might try the killifish forum, I think you might be able to keep a pair or trio in there.

I'd go for shrimp. There's some really pretty species, like cherry shrimp, and you could still have a pretty good number in a small tank safely.

Maybe two guppies, if breeding is impossible, but with 2 gallons, you don't have much room for error.

alright cool...anybody have experience with shrimp?? maybe some cheap ones for a start. do shrimp eat a lot of plants??? what plants could i have and is there anyway to have them w/o a heater-- guppies/plants/shrimp?

Definitely go for shrimp they are such fun to watch and hardly any bioload.

I would plant it up with java fern for height and java moss for cover [which they LOVE] and get 5. It might be cute to have 1 guppy in there too, a real beautiful one, maybe a red one with 5 cherry shrimp, that would be nice and colourful. Shrimp don't eat plants they clean them all day though lol. Have a look in ur lfs at what shrimp they have got u can get all sorts, blue, green, yellow, red etc.
