I'd like a mystery snail or two but....

I'm concerned about my live plants. I really wouldn't mind if they eat them a little, but I just don't want them chewing the plants off at the bottom of the stems...then leaving me with a ton of floating plants. Do all snails chew off plants at the base, or did I just have a bad experience?

Not all eat at the base, some eat in the middle or eat the leaves. Depends on the snail, the species and how well you feed them. Some won't touch the plants nd others will devour them.

I'll give it another try...I really like snails...odd, huh?

Why can't they make a product to put on plants to keep away snails, like they do for cats, rabbits, or deer!
