Hi,
Some of my fish have been flashing rarely but possibly more frequent than the other day. Anyway I cannot see any signs of Ich but have decided to treat the tank anyway. I have got Protozin Ich treatment stuff and have halved the dosage due to me having Tetras and a Bristlenose Plec. Would it be advisable to raise the temperature aswell or will it be ok at its current setting (26.1) I plan on doing the treatment for 8 days, the bottle says 4 but as im halving the dosage I thought doubling the treatment time would be a good idea?

Does all that sound ok or am I doing something to put my fish at risk?

Regards
Mike

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Fish can flick for many reason, dosn't always mean whitespot.
Sometimes there will be tiny bubbles on a fish when its about to break out in whitespot.

It wont do any harm treating for it if they dont have it though will it?

Sorry made that mistake before not noticing sig.

Have you added any new fish or plants to the tank lately.
Check the gills for looking pale with excess mucas, or red and inflamed.
Any excess mucas on body or gills.
Any white patches or fluffy bits on the fish.
Is there a greyish film on the fish.
Do any fish look pale.
Any fish clamping there fins.
Shine a torch on fish but turn tanks lights out to see if you can see any golden yellow spots, gold dusting, or a rusty coloured varnish.
Any fish a bluish film on them.
Check fish for tiny red pin prick marks.

Mike

LOL Sorry.
If there any changes.
They could break out in whitespot but I would just hold of meds for now.
