Yeah, I decided to hell with it, I'm keeping pet fish, not pet ich. I added the 6 drops tonight, started working up the temperature, and crossed my fingers.

Its a good idea to increase oxygen in the water while treating and raising the temperature, via a air stone or position of filter outlet disturbing the water surface, as the extra heat and med can drive out the oxygen level in the water, good luck.

I would recommend just raising the temperature an buying API aqaurium salt you can pick it up at petsathome and it's cheaper than medication.

I have had ich twice and have only ever used high temp and a little salt as I don't want to use chemicals as it can harm beneficial bacteri.

The perfect temp is 31 degrees C in my opinion for treating ich but increase oxygen when raising temp.

GREAT read by the way...... VERY informative,,,, and KATTY, I never dealt with Ich in the past so I am no expert.. Its just that I have so many plants and sensitive fish that I chose the heat method over chemicals because all parasite treatments are a form of poison at low levels, and all you are trying to do is poison the microscopic organisms in the aquarium and "hoipng" it doesnt harm your fish..... go with the experts on this one
